Mount Royal University Staff Accountability
Maintained by Tyler Johnston-Kent — documenting institutional harm through fact-based public record.
These people were trying to keep me down because I understand what object-oriented design entails.
Let's show them what it means to do good work.
Why This Page Exists
This page is a factual, protected record of harmful experiences I encountered as an Indigenous, neurodivergent student at MRU. I attempted every professional channel available — but silence and arrogance were returned. Now, I act transparently, with full documentation.
🌐 Web Traffic Report — Last 24 Hours
This heatmap shows the geographic distribution of all traffic to this page within the past 24 hours. Notably, Ireland and Canada have the highest hit counts — with Ireland approaching the top position despite no Irish content on this site.
📈 Web Traffic Report — Last 30 Days
This chart shows total traffic to the site over the past month. Notably, Ireland accounted for more than 36,000 requests, a volume that far exceeds local Canadian engagement. While some traffic may be routed through VPNs or proxies, the scale of activity reflects sustained and concentrated interest in this content from international IPs.
Apparently, Ireland really cares about Canadian university scandals.
Cloudflare Firewall Activity Report
Below are two recent samples from Cloudflare’s managed firewall logs, which automatically blocked suspicious incoming requests to formant.ca. These appear to be part of routine automated scans attempting to access outdated or irrelevant WordPress paths — despite the fact that this site is entirely custom-built and does not use WordPress.

Yasaman Amannejad – Associate Professor
Department: Mathematics & Computing
Official Bio: Google Knowledge Panel
Despite her recent public-facing involvement in neurodiversity advocacy, my experience with Yasaman was deeply harmful. Her classroom conduct was demeaning, negligent, and unprofessional. She did not treat me as an equal, but as someone to be dismissed and looked down upon. While she may now organize panels and diversity events, it is important that her past treatment of Indigenous and disabled students be publicly addressed.
Mahsa (Former Instructor)
Mahsa is no longer employed at MRU. During her tenure, she tried to humiliate me in class by demanding that I prove my coding abilities on the spot — simply because she could not believe that an Indigenous student could produce high-level technical work. Her actions were discriminatory and confrontational, and contributed to the hostile environment I experienced.
Melody Xing – Former Accounts Receivable Administrator
Melody Xing was employed in Financial Services at Mount Royal University and handled student accounts. During a critical time in my education, she placed unjustified financial holds that disrupted my academic progress. Despite attempts to clarify my situation, her decisions lacked flexibility, context, and compassion.
Her bureaucratic actions contributed directly to the collapse of my academic standing. While she no longer works at MRU, the damage remains — a clear example of how unaccountable administration can do lasting harm to students, especially those already facing systemic barriers.
Tori McMillan – Director, Iniskim Centre
LinkedIn: Tori McMillan Profile
Instead of supporting me through the racism and neglect I faced, Tori actively avoided addressing it. He admitted he did not want to "poke the bear" out of fear that advocating for me might put the Centre’s funding at risk. This response was not only disappointing, but a betrayal of the role he was supposed to uphold — advocating for Indigenous students. He failed to act when it mattered most.
Additional Evidence – Tori McMillan Testimony
This image is a direct quote from a former MRU academic advisor who worked alongside Tori McMillan at the Iniskim Centre. In their words:
"I'd teach him, and it didn't matter... She was being set up to fail. Many students suffered his advice. Or lack of."
This is not just a student's complaint — this is a colleague’s confirmation of professional incompetence and systemic harm, reinforcing everything described in the main report. Public testimony from within the institution itself makes it clear: Tori's negligence was known.
Steve Kootenay-Jobin
Former Indigenous Support Staff at MRU
Currently at SAIT as Indigenous Initiatives Manager
During my time at MRU, Steve was involved in institutional Indigenous affairs and was present in multiple conversations where the issues I faced could have been acknowledged or challenged. Instead, I was met with vague support, often cloaked in performative empathy. At no point was there a meaningful stand taken on my behalf — despite being in a direct role meant to advocate for students like me.
It's difficult to say whether this lack of advocacy was due to fear, pressure, or apathy. Regardless, the silence from those in key support positions enabled and validated the treatment I received. Steve’s continued rise in Indigenous education circles raises valid concerns about who gets recognized, and who gets ignored — especially when public image is prioritized over direct action.
Dr. D. Brady Killough – Associate Professor & Chair, Mathematics & Computing
Position: Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Mathematics & Computing at MRU
Faculty Page: MRU Faculty Page
Dr. Killough has been at MRU since 2009 with advanced degrees from University of Victoria and University of Toronto.
Accountability Note: When I raised long-standing issues of racism, disability neglect, and institutional harm, Brady responded by labeling it “history” and outside of acceptable redress. Despite agreeing the incidents were unacceptable, he declined to move forward with any meaningful action or accountability. To dismiss ongoing harm by flinching under the weight of time demonstrates how MRU’s institutional machinery elevates policy over justice — even when public-facing leaders like Brady present a caring, experienced front.
Alan Fedoruk – Former Department Chair
Official Bio: MRU Faculty Page
Dr. Fedoruk held the Chair role for Mathematics & Computing, publicly promoting small classes and student-first support. Yet while leading the department, I saw none of that commitment. He oversaw an environment where discrimination was overlooked and complaints went unanswered. His professional image stands in stark contrast to the apathy I faced as an Indigenous student under his watch. This systemic neglect contributed to the institutional failure that derailed my education.
Iniskim Centre – Entire Staff
The Iniskim Centre exists to support Indigenous students — and yet, when it mattered most, its staff collectively remained silent. Multiple individuals within the Centre were aware of the discrimination and neglect I faced. Rather than advocating on my behalf, they chose self-preservation. I was told directly that speaking out might jeopardize their own positions or funding.
This is unacceptable. Allyship without action is performative. The staff had opportunities to speak up and protect a student in distress — instead, they allowed abuse to continue. That silence will now be part of the public record.
Why This Page Exists
This page exists to document what I lived through. These are not baseless claims — they are supported by my experience, my records, and my growth in spite of the abuse. These individuals held positions of power and failed in their responsibilities to Indigenous and disabled students. By documenting this, I ensure accountability and transparency, not just for myself, but for every future student at MRU.
